Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday (July 21) unveiled the Andhra Pradesh Green Hydrogen Valley Declaration 2025, setting an ambitious roadmap to establish India’s largest integrated ecosystem for green hydrogen production, research, and application. The announcement comes on the heels of the recently concluded Green Hydrogen Summit at SRM University–AP in Amaravati, where the Chief Minister first signaled the initiative.
The declaration, jointly issued by government officials, global industry leaders, scientists, and policymakers, aims to position Andhra Pradesh as a national and global hub for green hydrogen innovation and sustainable industrial transformation.
At the heart of the policy are four strategic priorities: accelerating green hydrogen production and infrastructure development, promoting domestic manufacturing and innovation, building technical and research capacity, and fostering global partnerships and governance frameworks that support long-term sustainability.
The declaration outlines key targets to be achieved by 2029, including the establishment of 5 GW of electrolyser manufacturing capacity and an annual green hydrogen production goal of 1.5 million metric tonnes. The state also aims to reduce the cost of green hydrogen from the current ₹460 per kilogram to a more competitive range of ₹160–₹170 per kilogram. This will be supported by the creation of a 25 GW Green Energy Corridor to ensure smooth transmission of power across the state.
