Oswal Energies and the Deendayal Port Authority (Kandla-Gandhidham) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop green hydrogen, green methanol, green ammonia and a 100 MLD desalination plant under the National Green Energy Initiative.

The Government of India has identified Deendayal Port as one of the strategic hubs for developing green energy infrastructure. The partnership is expected to strengthen the port’s contribution to India’s net-zero and energy security goals while advancing the transition towards sustainable energy systems.

As part of the MoU, Oswal Energies will lead the establishment of green hydrogen generation units, conversion facilities for methanol and ammonia and a high-capacity desalination plant. The initiative is envisioned as a model for large-scale integration of renewable energy and water management solutions within port ecosystems.

“This MoU marks a transformative milestone in Oswal Energies’ journey toward sustainable innovation,” said Ratan Bokadia, Managing Director, Oswal Energies. “Our collaboration with the Deendayal Port Authority reinforces our commitment to driving India’s clean energy transition through advanced technologies and strategic partnerships.”

The agreement was formally signed during India Maritime Week 2025, organised by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways in Mumbai. The ceremony was attended by senior officials from both organisations including Dixit Bokadia, Director, Oswal Energies and M. Suresh, Chief Strategic Officer.

The project aligns with the National Green Energy Initiative’s objective of promoting renewable energy infrastructure development across India’s major ports. By integrating hydrogen production, green fuels and desalination capacity, the collaboration aims to create a sustainable and resilient industrial ecosystem capable of supporting future maritime and industrial needs.

Through this partnership, Oswal Energies and Deendayal Port Authority aim to set a precedent for port-led green energy development that supports India’s long-term decarbonisation vision and strengthens its position in the global clean energy value chain.
