Plug Power Inc. has signed a binding agreement with Allied Biofuels FE LLC for the supply of up to 2 gigawatts (GW) of GenEco proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer systems to support a major electro-sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF) project in Uzbekistan.
This commitment forms part of a broader collaboration between Plug Power and the Allied group which is already active through the 3 GW Allied Green Ammonia project in Australia. With this agreement, Plug Power’s total contracted capacity with Allied partners now stands at 5 GW.
The Allied Biofuels site in Uzbekistan is designed to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), eSAF and green diesel. Located at a key logistical hub serving global sustainable fuel markets, the facility will use Plug Power’s electrolyzer technology to power its production processes. The final investment decision for the project is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, according to the companies.
The agreement was signed in Australia during a visit by Plug Power Chief Executive Officer Andy Marsh who met with regional partners to explore new opportunities in hydrogen and liquid fuels. The deal is among the largest electrolyzer supply contracts announced in 2025 and underscores Plug Power’s strategy to strengthen its position as a leading provider for large-scale hydrogen projects.
Together, the 5 GW of combined capacity across the Allied projects in Australia and Uzbekistan highlights Plug Power’s growing role in industrial-scale electrolyser supply for synthetic fuel production. The Uzbekistan site will mark the first commercial deployment of this scale in the region, reflecting a milestone for the country’s renewable fuel ambitions.
Plug Power continues to expand its operations across Asia including South Korea, India and Japan where its technologies are being deployed in hydrogen production, power generation and industrial applications. The company’s strategy focuses on meeting the rising demand for hydrogen-based energy solutions in emerging markets.
The agreement reinforces Plug Power’s commitment to supporting the decarbonisation of heavy industries and transport through scalable technology-driven solutions in the global clean energy sector.
