Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has acquired a 70 percent equity stake in H2Apex’s 100 MW green hydrogen project in Lubmin, Germany, the companies confirmed.

H2Apex remains involved as co-developer and expects construction to begin in 2026, with ambitions to scale the site to over 1 GW in future phases.

The Lubmin facility will use renewable electricity to power electrolysers that produce green hydrogen, positioning the site as a potential export hub for northern Europe.

This deal aligns with CIP’s strategy to back large-scale hydrogen infrastructure in Europe, adding to its renewable energy portfolio. With Germany’s supportive policy environment for clean hydrogen, the investment underlines growing investor confidence in the sector.
