Fusion Fuel Green PLC (NASDAQ: HTOO), a leading developer of innovative solar-to-hydrogen solutions, announced that its subsidiary, Bright Hydrogen Solutions Ltd (BrightHy Solutions), has secured a new contract to provide engineering services for an industrial-scale green hydrogen facility in southern Europe. The project marks another important milestone in BrightHy’s expansion across the European energy market and highlights the growing role of green hydrogen in the continent’s energy transition.

The agreement, valued at €275,000 and structured in phased payments tied to project deliverables, covers the design and development of a 15 MW hydrogen production facility. Once completed, the plant is expected to produce renewable hydrogen for blending into the regional natural gas network. This integration of green hydrogen into existing infrastructure is seen as a key step in lowering carbon intensity while maintaining the reliability of energy supply.
Under the terms of the contract, BrightHy Solutions will deliver comprehensive front-end engineering design (FEED) services. These include detailed project management, technical engineering specifications, as well as environmental and safety studies. The scope of work will be executed over a 12-week delivery period, following an initial four-week preparation stage. Such a structured approach ensures that the project meets international standards of safety, sustainability, and operational efficiency.

Luis Galdo, Commercial Officer at BrightHy Solutions, underscored the significance of the engagement, noting that it reflects BrightHy’s growing reputation as a trusted partner in hydrogen project development. “This new engagement underscores BrightHy’s role as a strategic partner in the deployment of green hydrogen projects in Europe,” Galdo said. “Our expertise in technology and project management positions us strongly to support large-scale initiatives that enhance energy security, promote decarbonisation, and strengthen industrial competitiveness.”
The project comes at a time when European nations are accelerating efforts to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, diversify energy sources, and build sustainable energy infrastructure. With the European Union’s target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, hydrogen is increasingly being recognised as a cornerstone of decarbonisation strategies, particularly for sectors that are difficult to electrify directly.

Fusion Fuel, through BrightHy Solutions, is positioning itself to capture opportunities in this evolving market. By focusing on high-impact engineering projects, the company aims to establish long-term relationships with governments, utilities, and industrial players looking to integrate hydrogen into their energy mix. The Southern Europe project, though modest in value, represents an important foothold for future collaborations and larger-scale deployments.
