KP Group, one of India’s leading renewable energy companies, has successfully concluded an intensive training programme on green hydrogen at its state-of-the-art facility in Matar, Bharuch. Conducted in collaboration with the Power Sector Skill Council (PSSC), the initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen workforce readiness in the rapidly evolving green hydrogen economy.
More than 35 participants completed the training, receiving certifications that validate their practical knowledge and skills in green hydrogen technologies. The participants gained direct hands-on exposure to systems and processes that are expected to play a vital role in shaping India’s clean energy future. Representatives from PSSC, including Mr. Aaquib Firdous, Mr. Deepanshu Choudhary, and Ms. Harshida Pandya, were present to guide the sessions, while KP Green Engineering Whole-time Director, Mr. Moinul Kadva, also participated.
The programme aligns closely with the objectives of the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM), which is central to India’s ambition of becoming a global leader in the production, utilisation and export of green hydrogen and its derivatives. The NGHM also aims to position green hydrogen at the core of India’s energy security strategy, targeting independence by 2047 and net zero emissions by 2070.
By focusing on capacity building, KP Group is ensuring that India develops not just the infrastructure but also the human capital necessary to accelerate the clean energy transition. Training initiatives such as this are seen as essential to bridging the skills gap and preparing a workforce capable of handling advanced technologies in hydrogen production, storage, and application.
Commenting on the initiative, KP Group’s Chairman and Managing Director, Dr. Faruk G. Patel, said:
“This training reflects our belief that it is imperative for infrastructure and talent to develop together for India to lead the global clean energy transformation. At KP Group, we are not just building projects, but creating ecosystems that will power the future, and we are committed to being at the forefront of the clean energy transformation.”
The green hydrogen sector is widely regarded as a cornerstone of the future energy system, offering a path to decarbonise industries that are otherwise difficult to electrify, such as steel, fertilisers, and long-haul transport. As India scales up investments and partnerships in this area, workforce development initiatives will play a critical role in ensuring smooth adoption of technologies and the creation of sustainable jobs.
